Customer journey 3: relating to investors in Big Pharma

Barri, 44, heads investor relations at pharmaceuticals group BetaBio. An ex-financial analyst, he's got a strong grasp of the numbers - but needs to communicate the company's story to investors, not all of whom are pharma-literate.

Three things matter to this numbers man. First is straight P&L: the profits flowing in from sales of drugs. Second is BetaBio's research pipeline: new drugs progressing through trials and approvals, which affect the company's share price. Third is generics: the companies who copy BetaBio's drugs the moment they're out of patent. Going after these lawbreakers, however justifiably, leads to public outcry against "Big Pharma" and negative publicity.
